First demo guitar/vocals in spring 2000. Rehearsals with Nicolas Mahieux (doublebass) , Charles Duytshaever(drums) and Richard Huyghe (guitar) and then recording (without demoing) took place a year after. Other musicians were our invitees in the studio as Ambroise Yon on tablas, Nicolas Fahy on cello or Benoit Nison on piano. So the first and main takes go back to spring 2001.

A first version of the album was self released two months later and some gigs with Nicolas, Charles and Richard. Some time later, the cd-demo having been sent to rif raf magasine, top5 members were to listen to it and like it and talk about the idea of taking the time to rework on it (properly) and release it.

We decided to contact Jonathan Digby whom I had met at a concert of Catherine Williams he was sonorising and whose work I appreciated a lot. He had also worked with Elysian Fields, Mojave 3, Sophia, Quickspace and is now busy with Damien Rice.

During the last summer we settled at the top of the Tagawa Hotel in Brussels, a haunted building which used to be a very chic hotel of some Arab prince's brother and is now an organised and official squatt with lots of things going on. We took the original studio takes and listened to them, decided what to keep and what would be useful for each song to add. There was some new instrument takes: violin, bansuri, piano, trumpet, drums, oud...

The cover artwork was already being worked at by Peggy Shillemans. Then Jonathan went back to England and we continued working with Sebastien on the editing of the songs. As soon as we finished we sent the edited versions to jonathan so that he could start on the mixing, which we finalised some time later at my place.
